Friendly result: Manchester United 3 Real Betis 2

In a thrilling encounter at Old Trafford, Manchester United emerged victorious with a narrow but hard-fought 3-2 win against Real Betis. The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, showcasing the resilience and determination of the Red Devils. Early in the first half, United took the lead with a stunning strike from Marcus Rashford, who found the back of the net with a curling effort from the edge of the area.

Betis responded quickly, leveling the score with a well-placed header from their captain, who capitalized on a corner kick that caught the United defense off guard. The visitors seemed emboldened by their equalizer, putting pressure on the home side with a series of swift counterattacks.

Meanwhile, Betis are managed by Manuel Pellegrini, and the LaLiga side lost to Liverpool last time out.

The Reds came out on top 1-0 with Dominik Szoboszlai scoring, although, it was a close game, so this won't be easy for United.

United added a third goal to their tally on 31 minutes through Casemiro, who turned the ball home from close quarters after Rashford kept a corner routine alive. It capped off a really impressive and entertaining first half showing from Erik ten Hag's side.

United continued to carry the greater threat after half-time and went close to scoring a fourth goal on a couple of occasions. Betis, however, completed the scoring via Diego Llorente just past the hour mark.

Real Betis finished the game in the ascendancy, albeit without really troubling Heaton, who saw out the full game with Andre Onana remaining rested on the bench. Pablo Garcia and Nabil Fekir may feel they could have done better than send their shots whistling just wide of the woodwork. United's 3-2 victory and Liverpool's 2-1 triumph on the same night - against Arsenal in Philadelphia - sets us up nicely for our final match of Tour 2024, presented by Snapdragon, when England's two most successful clubs meet on Saturday night in South Carolina.

With time running out, United's new signing delivered a breathtaking solo goal, dribbling past several defenders and slotting the ball home to make it 3-1. But Betis wasn’t done yet; they rallied and caught United off guard with a late goal, setting up a tense finish. Despite their best efforts, United held firm in the dying moments to secure the victory, leaving the fans celebrating in the stands. What a match it was—a true testament to the spirit of football!
