Johnny Wactor, a promising young man with a bright future ahead of him, tragically lost his life during an attempted robbery. The incident occurred late Tuesday night in a quiet neighborhood, sending shockwaves throughout the community.The details surrounding the attempted robbery are still unclear, but it is believed that Johnny was confronted by a group of individuals demanding money. According to the L.A. Police Department, officers responded around 3:25 a.m. on Saturday. When officers arrived, they found Wactor suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said Wactor saw three men stealing the catalytic converter from his vehicle. However, when he confronted them, they turned around and shot him.

    Wactor has appeared in "Westworld," "The OA," "NCIS," "Station 19," "Criminal Minds," and "Hollywood Girl, "according to TMZ. He is more widely known for playing Brando Corbin on "General Hospital" from 2020 until 2022. 

    "Johnny Wactor was a spectacular human being. Not just a talented actor who was committed to his craft but a real moral example to everyone who knew him. Standing for hard work, tenacity and a never-give-up attitude. In the highs and lows of a challenging profession, he always kept his chin up and kept striving for the best he could be," Wactor's agent David Shaul told Variety.

    After his stint on “Army Wives,” Wactor worked on several short films beginning in 2010, including “The Grass Is Never Greener,” “GoldenBox,” “The Con-Artist,” “Flyover States,” “A Most Suitable Applicant,” “The Interrogation,” “Anything for You, Abby” “The Relic” and “We Won’t Forget,” among others. He wrote and starred in the 2022 short “Broken Riders.”

    Wactor also appeared in multiple feature films, most notably 2016’s “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage,” directed by Mario Van Peebles and starring Nicolas Cage, Tom Sizemore and Thomas Jane. Additional film credits include “Menthol,” “Ever,” “Trapper’s Edge,” “Supercell” and “Dead Talk Tales: Volume I.”

    The thefts nationwide peaked in 2022, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau. A wave of legislation in states from California to Rhode Island has tried to make it difficult to buy and sell stolen catalytic converters and the metals within.
