Apple has once again set the tech world abuzz with the unveiling of its stunning new iPad Pro. The latest addition to Apple's lineup boasts a sleek design, powerful performance, and innovative features that are sure to impress even the most discerning tech enthusiasts.
The new iPad Pro features a larger display with ProMotion technology, delivering an incredibly smooth and responsive viewing experience. The device is powered by Apple's latest A14 Bionic chip, ensuring lightning-fast performance for all your multitasking needs. Additionally, the iPad Pro now supports 5G connectivity, enabling faster download speeds and improved overall performance.
The iPad Air and iPad Pro got significant upgrades, and Apple also introduced a new Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard for the devices. Apple also lowered the price on the existing iPad 10-inch, which will now start at $349.
Livestreaming of the event, called "Let Loose," was available on Apple's YouTube channel, as well as its website.
Here what to know about New ipad Pro:
Thinnest Apple Product Ever
The new iPad Pro — the thinnest Apple product ever — features a stunningly thin and light design, taking portability to a whole new level. The 11-inch model is just 5.3 mm thin, and the 13-inch model is even thinner at a striking 5.1 mm, while both models are just as strong as the previous design. The 11-inch model weighs less than a pound, and the 13-inch model is nearly a quarter pound lighter than its predecessor — allowing pro users to extend their workflows in new ways and in more places. The new iPad Pro is available in two gorgeous finishes — silver and space black — both with 100 percent recycled aluminum enclosures.
All-New M4 Chip
The new chip is built on a second-generation three-nanometer process, packing more transistors into a smaller space, enhancing both power efficiency and speed. The CPU has four performance cores and six efficiency cores, which Apple says delivers up to 50 percent faster CPU performance than the M2 in the previous iPad Pro. There's also a 10-core GPU for four times faster performance. As with the M3, it comes with features such as ray tracing, mesh shading, and dynamic caching.
The shift in strategy makes sense, seeing as how Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (which focuses on new software capabilities coming to its entire product line) is next month. In April, Bloomberg reported that iOS 18 will include “a new slate of generative AI features” and that Apple was currently in talks with OpenAI to incorporate some of the company's features into the next version of the iPhone operating system (this is in addition to reports that Apple is also talking to Google about licensing the Gemini assistant).
The Apple Pencil Goes Pro
The latest is the Apple Pencil Pro—everything is “Pro” these days. It looks identical to its predecessor, matte finish and all, but it also comes equipped with a few new features. There's now a “squeeze” capability that opens up a new tool palette (double tap is still available), and the new haptic engine inside offers you feedback as you squeeze. A built-in gyroscope sensor lets you change the orientation of the tools you're using as you twist the pencil, offering up even finer control.
Apple's new refreshed version isn't all that different from its predecessor, but it does come with some noteworthy improvements (yet still a high price). It now includes a Function row (for access to controls like screen brightness), an aluminum palm rest, and a larger trackpad with haptic feedback—so it should feel a lot similar to a MacBook. According to Apple, it's also thinner and lighter.
It's available for both the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro starting at $299 and $349, respectively. It's currently available for preorder and will go on sale May 15.
