Real Sociedad 0 - 1 Real Madrid

Real Sociedad faced off against Real Madrid in a highly anticipated La Liga match that ended with a 0-1 victory for the visiting team. The game was intense from start to finish, with both sides showcasing their skills and determination on the field.

Real Madrid took an early lead in the first half with a goal from Karim Benzema, which proved to be the deciding factor in the match. Despite several attempts from Real Sociedad to equalize, they were unable to break through Real Madrid's defense.

Arda Güler scored to earn a second-string Real Madrid side a 1-0 win at Real Sociedad on Friday, moving the LaLiga leaders a step closer to a record-extending 36th Spanish title.

With five games remaining, Real climbed to 84 points and extended their lead to 14 points over second-placed Barcelona, who have a game in hand and host Valencia on Monday.

Real Sociedad dominated possession but created few clear-cut chances and when Real finally carved out an opportunity in the first half, Arda Guler made no mistake, side-footing home Dani Carvajal's cross on his full debut.

Los Blancos pieced together a largely unspectacular performance. Reserve goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was called into action on a handful of occasions in the first half, while the Madrid attack toiled. Guler provided the crucial moment, though, sneaking in at the far post to meet Dani Carvajal's cross and give his side a 1-0 lead.

La Real thought they had an equaliser when Take Kubo curled one into the far corner, but his goal was harshly ruled out for a foul in the build up. The home side had further chances in the second half, seeing another goal ruled out - this time for offside - and narrowly missing on two other occasions.

By the end of it all, Los Blancos were left holding onto a scrappy win, one of the litany of young talents at their disposal to thank for a moment of quality.

Dovbyk is one of the best around. And, looking ahead, he could be an option for Napoli as the Serie A side considers a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen (Spanish) next season following a meek title defense, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. Selling would allow Girona to make a considerable profit, except gearing up for European soccer—which the squad will be excited about—means that is far from certain.

For the moment, there are more goals in store. Girona’s trip to face Las Palmas this weekend is the longest domestic away day in European soccer, roughly 1,500 miles from its Estadi Montilivi, home to some wild games in recent times. Dovbyk, too, has gone far—far beyond most expectations. In doing so, he’s added another dimension to a league destined to end up in familiar hands.
