Nuggets vs. Lakers 101-99

The highly anticipated matchup between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers did not disappoint as it came down to the wire with a final score of 101-99 in favor of the Nuggets. The game was a back-and-forth battle with both teams showcasing their offensive prowess and defensive tenacity. The Lakers, led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, put up a strong fight but ultimately fell short against the Nuggets' well-rounded team effort.

Nikola Jokic was instrumental in securing the victory for Denver, putting up an impressive performance with his scoring, rebounding, and playmaking abilities. Jamal Murray also played a key role in the win, hitting crucial shots down the stretch to seal the deal for his team.

Murray swished a step-back 15-footer over Anthony Davis at the buzzer Monday night, giving the Denver Nuggets a stunning 101-99 win over the Los Angeles Lakers and capping a comeback from a 20-point second-half deficit.

Murray tumbled into the Nuggets' bench along with Davis just as his shot fluttered the net and the roar from the crowd shook Ball Arena.

“I just lost my balance and fell. I think A.D. was in my way or somebody was in my way and I just heard everybody scream and that's how I knew it went in," said Murray, who was mobbed by his teammates after his bucket gave the reigning NBA champions their 10th consecutive win over the Lakers.

Murray hit a ridiculous fadeaway buzzer-beater over Anthony Davis to lift the Nuggets past the Los Angeles Lakers 101-99 in Game 2 of their opening-round playoff series. Murray, with the game tied as time was winding down, drove at Davis before he stepped back and fired.

Jokic had 27 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists while Porter scored 22 points for the Nuggets, who have beaten the Lakers in 10 straight meetings, regular season and postseason combined.

Davis had 32 points and 11 rebounds but scored just two points in the final 22 minutes. James had 26 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds, and D'Angelo Russell hit six of his seven 3-pointers in the first half and finished with 23 points for Los Angeles.

The Lakers need to continue to find ways to neutralize Jokic, while Denver needs to deal with Davis and James. The answer might be to pursue a war of attrition against the dynamic duo after they each played a lot more than 40 minutes in altitude in the first two games of the series.

Meanwhile for the Lakers, to spoil Denver's title defense, they need to stymie and suffocate the Nuggets starting five and be able to hold up under the physical burden of playing heavy minutes against a superior opponent over the span of a seven-game series.
