Dundee 0-0 Rangers

On a chilly afternoon in Dundee, fans eagerly awaited the clash between Dundee and Rangers. The atmosphere was electric as both teams took to the field, ready to battle it out for supremacy. The game got off to a slow start, with both sides struggling to find their rhythm.

As the match progressed, it became clear that neither team was willing to give an inch. The defenses held firm, thwarting every attack that came their way. Despite some close calls and near misses, neither team could break the deadlock.

Dundee had an early strike from Amadou Bakayoko ruled out for offside, while the closest Rangers came to scoring was when Jon McCracken saved superbly from Cyriel Dessers as mental pressure mounted on the visitors.

Clement, though, insisted: "It was nothing to do with focus, desire or will. It was to do with a lack of efficiency, some luck as well."

Rangers nevertheless have now only won two of their latest eight games and will almost certainly have to win at Celtic Park for the first time since 2020 if they are to prevent their city rivals retaining the title.

Dens keeper Jon McCracken comfortably denied Abdallah Sima, Connor Goldson and James Tavernier as Rangers struggled to show their previous form under Clement.

The Ibrox side trail Celtic with five games remaining while Dundee remain sixth, two points behind St Mirren in their push for European football next season.

As the clock ticked away, the hope faded. Rangers had half an hour to save their season, then 15 minutes. Soon, time was up. McCracken saved well from Cyriel Dessers and Tavernier fired over from a free-kick but Dundee were not exactly under an onslaught. Rangers were desperate in more ways than one. The reaction from the stands said it all. Rangers got a point that is largely irrelevant. They didn’t deserve any more from this one.

In the end, the final whistle blew with the scoreline still at 0-0. While some may see this as a disappointing result, others will appreciate the defensive prowess displayed by both teams. It was a hard-fought battle that showcased the resilience and determination of both Dundee and Rangers.
