Fulham win 0-2 over West Ham

On a crisp autumn evening, Fulham secured a convincing 0-2 victory over West Ham in a thrilling Premier League match. The Cottagers displayed exceptional teamwork and skill, dominating the game from start to finish.

Fulham's first goal came early in the first half, with a clinical finish from their star striker. The team continued to press forward, creating numerous scoring opportunities and keeping West Ham's defense on their toes.

A bright start from West Ham failed to translate into a goal and Andreas Pereira exposed a defensive mistake for the breakthrough. Fulham took control of the match – their dangerous attacks rewarded with another finish from the livewire Brazilian – to flatten the hosts and weaken their prospects of qualifying for European football again next season.

West Ham must overturn a two-goal deficit against Leverkusen on Thursday night but this limp loss offered no evidence to suggest they are capable of delivering another famous European night.

On their day Marco Silva’s Fulham can beat teams 5-0. They can also lose 5-0. There isn’t much in-between. After putting in some woeful displays recently, especially the loss at Nottingham Forest, they beat West Ham comfortably and created so many chances. When Fulham are at their best they are ruthless, free-flowing and direct in attack and horrible to play against in midfield. All of that was on show on Sunday. Fulham are also the last team to beat Arsenal in the Premier League back at the end of 2023 and their inconsistency must drive Silva crazy. Still, they have an outside chance of surging towards Europe late in the season and have some big home games against Liverpool and Manchester City to come. The Cottagers could have a big say in the title race because they are so difficult to predict from one week to the next. When it clicks they can beat anyone. Watch out, Liverpool and Man City. Arsenal found out how strange Fulham can be to play against the hard way.

Since the March international break, Andreas seems to have raised his performances to the level we know he’s capable of. His ‘off-the-ball’ abilities have been widely praised, but as we all know, his goal return has not been good enough for somebody who plays nearly every game at number 10.

He took both his goals well today, even though for a second I thought he’d spurned that first goal over the bar. I also thought he was also excellent in his all-around play and he was involved in nearly all our good attacking forays. It was fantastic to see him take the acclaim from the Fulham faithful after the full-time whistle.

This win not only boosts Fulham's position in the league standings but also serves as a testament to their determination and talent. It was truly a night to remember for all those who support the Cottagers.
