The LA Lakers secured a thrilling victory over the Indiana Pacers in a nail-biting game that had fans on the edge of their seats. The Lakers, led by superstar LeBron James, put on a masterful performance, showcasing their talent and teamwork throughout the game. From the opening tip-off to the final buzzer, it was clear that the Lakers were determined to come out on top.
The Pacers put up a strong fight, but they were no match for the skill and determination of the Lakers. With every basket and defensive stop, it was evident that the Lakers were destined for victory. The crowd erupted in cheers as they watched their team dominate on both ends of the court.
Dinwiddie scored 26 points after averaging only five points in his first 16 games with the Lakers. He made two three-pointers, eight of nine free-throw attempts and added five assists.
Dinwiddie is a proven veteran scorer but has had to shelve that for a defense-first mindset after signing with the Lakers. He averaged 16.5 points last season with Brooklyn and, of course, still likes scoring whenever possible on a team with James, Anthony Davis and the red-hot Russell, who sat out Sunday because of a non-COVID illness.
“Don’t get it twisted, I love the sexy stats. I love scoring,” Dinwiddie told Spectrum SportsNet. “But you know what, it’s part of being in a team environment. Every game’s going to be a little different for me. I understood that when I signed here. I look forward to being a piece as we go forward.”
Indiana held a six-point lead after the first quarter before a scoring explosion from LA saw the team put up 86 points across the second and third quarters alone.
“Offensively, we were very sharp,” James said postgame. “We had some turnovers in the first quarter and first half but cleaned it up in the second half.”
The Lakers will certainly miss The Chosen One if he does indeed have to sit. Across 62 contests with the Lakers this year (already his most since the team's championship run in 2019-20), James is averaging 25.4 points on .530/.406/.751 shooting splits, 8.1 assists, 7.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 06. blocks a night. He's the fulcrum of his club's offense. Without James available last time, Darvin Ham opted to elevate Dinwiddie into a three-guard starting lineup. Another option could be starting 3-and-D backup combo forward Taurean Prince.
