By Jen Christensen, CNN (CNN) — People 65 and older should get an additional dose of the current Covid-19 vaccine, independent advisers to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention voted Wednesday. The CDC director, Dr. Mandy Cohen, must sign off on the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ recommendation to make it final. The proposal the committee voted on was: “ACIP recommends that persons >65 years of age should receive an additional dose of 2023-2024 Formula Covid-19 vaccine.” The vote was 11 yes and one no, with one person abstaining.
