On a warm summer evening in 2024, soccer fans witnessed an exciting match between Inter Miami and Real Salt Lake. The game was highly anticipated as both teams were vying for a spot in the playoffs. From the first whistle, Inter Miami showed their dominance on the field with precise passing and aggressive attacking plays.

In the 35th minute, Inter Miami took the lead with a stunning goal from their star striker. The crowd erupted in cheers as they watched their team take control of the game. Real Salt Lake fought hard to equalize but were unable to break through Inter Miami's solid defense.

The 2024 Major League soccer season starts today, which means soccer fans will get a chance to see their favorite players on the pitch, including Inter Miami FC star Lionel Messi.

Messi was in midseason form, darting through and around defenders, almost giving the sellout crowd what they wanted to see by nearly scoring on a free kick and then a corner kick midway through the first half.

"I think the eyes of the world are on Inter Miami, and I'm hoping that they're able to deliver on that and whatever expectations people have," said MLS Commissioner Don Garber, who was at Wednesday's match. "Mostly, I'd just like his experience to be good, the experience of the team to be successful, how they're positioned both here in the league but also around the world. That's the story that I think is most important to us."

In the 28th minute, Nelson Palacio took a shot from far outside the box and had it blocked.

On Real’s next attack, Chicho Arango took a shot that sailed just high.

In the 39th minute, Inter Miami got on the board with a heater off the foot of Robert Taylor. Messi assisted on the opening goal for Miami.

RSL goalkeeper Zac MacMath got his hands on the shot but it trickled past him into the bottom left corner.

Real Salt Lake made the MLS Cup Playoffs as the fifth seed in the West with a record of 14-12-8.

Despite getting bounced in the first round by Houston, there was a lot of hope for RSL’s future as young pieces and new additions get more time on the pitch.
