Triple H addressed the fallout of Thursday's explosive WrestleMania Kickoff press event in Las Vegas, in which The Rock and Roman Reigns appeared to form a bond over their familial bonds when confronted by Cody Rhodes, who revealed he will challenge The Tribal Chief for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at The Showcase of the Immortals in Philadelphia.
What did the face of WWE have to say about the events of Thursday and would there be any further indication of exactly what this road to the biggest show of the year may look like?
Find out with this recap of a broadcast that also featured the coronation of tag team No. 1 contenders, the latest from Royal Rumble winner Bayley, and another qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber.
WWE has announced that its Chief Content Officer, Paul "Triple H" Levesque, will be addressing what transpired at the conclusion of the Las Vegas event.
After the incident, Dwayne Johnson was stewing backstage with Roman Reigns, and Paul Heyman. In the middle of Triple H's interview with Jackie Redmond, The Rock warned WWE's CCO to fix the Cody problem or his family will. He also threatened to lay the SmackDown on Rhodes' teeth
This decision has seemingly united The Rock and Roman Reigns against Rhodes, a shocking development considering The Rock and Roman Reigns were expected to fight for the Universal championship prior to the press conference. During Rhodes' announcement, Rhodes claimed that Reigns' grandfather would be ashamed of him for how he has acted recently and how he treated former Bloodline member Jey Uso. Since The Rock and Reigns' grandfather swore a blood oath connecting their families, The Rock took offense to that statement, slapping Rhodes. The Rock later told Paul 'Triple H' Levesque to "make it right" to which Triple H responded "That was out of line and you know it."
From there, Orton ultimately hit the draping DDT. Orton set up for the RKO, but Zayn rolled Orton up for a two-count. Zayn followed that up with a Blue Tunder Bomb for a good near fall. Zayn tried a springboard move off the second rope, but Orton moved, hit an RKO and that was enough for the win.
After the match, Drew McIntyre stepped into the ring. Orton and McIntyre jawed at each other to close the show.
