Back in 2013, White was on the Hostos Community College basketball team and earned a full scholarship to Queens College before playing professionally in Canada. “My dream was for basketball to take me out of the hood, but I didn’t know it would take me out of the hood and have a lot more,” he says. White started a family and wanted to come back to Brooklyn and get some stability, but didn’t want to lose the sense of teamwork he loved about basketball.
