New York Knicks win 108-103 over Brooklyn Nets

The New York Knicks' recent victory over the Brooklyn Nets was not just a win for the team, but a triumph for the entire city. This thrilling match showcased the Knicks' resilience, determination, and sheer talent, proving that they are a force to be reckoned with in the NBA.

Firstly, this victory is significant because it demonstrates the Knicks' ability to compete against tough opponents. The Brooklyn Nets have been one of the strongest teams in recent years, boasting star players like Kevin Durant and James Harden. Despite this formidable competition, the Knicks managed to secure a well-deserved win through their exceptional teamwork and strategic gameplay.

Donte DiVincenzo scored 11 points and OG Anunoby added 10 for the Knicks.

Mikal Bridges hit a career-high seven 3-pointers and scored 36 points for the Nets, who blew a 10-point lead in the third quarter, just two nights after squandering an 18-point advantage in a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Cameron Johnson scored 19 points and Cam Thomas added 14 off the bench for the Nets, who had lost the last three meetings against the Knicks.

The contest was close for the first two quarters before Brooklyn built a 10-point lead late in the third quarter on a 6-0 run that was capped by a Nic Claxton dunk that extended the lead to 81-71 with 1:16 left in the period.

Prince Achiuwa hit a layup to make it a one-point game following a Randle miss at the rim, giving the Knicks a 98-97 lead with 3:57 left.

The Lakers’ offense, which has been an issue for most of the season, hung tightly enough, getting them within a single possession in the fourth, but without James, the team couldn’t come all the way back from the 16-point deficit it faced in the first half.

The Lakers learned they’d be without James on Monday, ruling their star out because of a left ankle injury.

“Just trying to be proactive with his ankle,” coach Darvin Ham said before the game. “He'll probably be day-to-day. But that's pretty much it.”

Mikal Bridges led the team with 26 points, six rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block while shooting 9/17 from the field and 4/7 from the three-point range.

Following the Knicks, the Nets will host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday evening.
