Los Angeles Rams win over New York Giants in NFL Week 17

The Los Angeles Rams emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter against the New York Giants during Week 17 of the NFL season. The game was a true spectacle, showcasing the talent and determination of both teams.

From the very beginning, it was evident that this clash would be fiercely contested. The Rams' offense displayed exceptional skill, with quarterback Matthew Stafford leading his team with precision and accuracy. His throws were met with outstanding catches by wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr., who consistently outmaneuvered the Giants' defense.

The Giants nearly threatened on the ensuing drive with a 47-yard completion from quarterback Tyrod Taylor to wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, but that play was negated by a holding call against them. The Rams forced a turnover on downs on 4th and 1 from their own 33 to get the ball back with 8:38 left, but couldn't capitalize.

Giants wide receiver Gunner Olszewski returned a punt 94 yards for a touchdown, but the ensuing 2-point attempt was unsuccessful, leaving the Rams again clinging to a 1-point lead, 26-25, with 3:27 remaining.

After an interception and a Crosby field goal cut the lead to 20-19, Rams' running back Kyren Williams scored his third touchdown of the game with a 28-yard scamper that put the Rams up 26-19. Williams finished with a career-high three touchdowns on 87 yards rushing.

Los Angeles had ample opportunities to add to their lead, but costly mental mistakes, drops, and blown coverages continued to haunt them. Special teams, which was awful all day for the Rams, once again failed to tackle on punt coverage and allowed their second punt return touchdown this month.

Closing in on the NFL rookie record, wide receiver Puka Nacua broke an 80-yard catch-and-run on the Rams' first possession of the second half. It set up a two-yard touchdown run by Kyren Williams, the running back's second of three scores on the day, and gave Los Angeles a 10-point lead at the time.

After Slayton's long touchdown, Belton intercepted Stafford for the second time, giving the ball to the Giants in Rams territory late in the third quarter of a four-point game.

The Giants held the Rams to just two third-down conversions on eight attempts.

On Saturday, the Giants signed linebacker Darrian Beavers from the practice squad to the active roster. The sixth-round draft choice was competing for a starting job as a rookie in 2022 before tearing his ACL in a preseason game vs. Cincinnati. He has yet to appear in a regular-season game in the NFL.
