Record-breaking victory for Notre Dame to Oregon State

On a crisp autumn afternoon, college football fans witnessed a historic clash between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Oregon State Beavers. The game, held at the hallowed grounds of Notre Dame Stadium, will forever be etched in the annals of sports history as one of the most remarkable victories ever achieved.

From the moment the whistle blew, it was evident that both teams were determined to leave their mark on this game. The atmosphere was electric as thousands of passionate fans cheered on their respective teams. However, it was Notre Dame who seized control early on with an explosive offense led by their star quarterback.

The Fighting Irish dominated every aspect of the game. Their offensive line created impenetrable walls, allowing their running backs to gain significant yardage with ease. Meanwhile, their defense exhibited an ironclad resolve, thwarting every attempt made by Oregon State to score.

Oregon State very much looked like a program in flux, with quarterback Ben Gulbranson never really finding a rhythm and the ground game suffering. A fake punt in the first half that was clearly borne out of a lack of offensive progress was, in some respects, a death knell for the Beavers. The game only got worse from there.

For Notre Dame and Freeman, it was clearly a statement game of sorts. Notre Dame never took its foot off the gas, and was going for it on fourth-and-goal up double digits in the second half. It was Notre Dame's biggest bowl margin of victory in program history, no small feat when talking about the Golden Domers.

Jordan Faison was the game's MVP with five catches for 115 yards and a touchdown, after shaking open seemingly all game. Of Angeli's performance he said upon accepting the trophy: "We saw it coming."

Angeli made his first career start for the Fighting Irish on Friday because starter Sam Hartman opted to sit out of the bowl game to turn his attention to the upcoming NFL Draft. It's become commonplace for potential NFL Draft picks to sit out of non-playoff bowl games.

Angeli went 15 for 19 for 232 yards and three touchdowns as Notre Dame beat Oregon State, 40-8.
