2023 Holiday Bowl: USC football win over Louisville (42-28)

The 2023 Holiday Bowl was a thrilling display of athleticism and determination, as the USC Trojans emerged victorious over the Louisville Cardinals with a score of 42-28. This game will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most exciting moments in USC football history.

From the very beginning, it was clear that both teams were hungry for victory. The first quarter saw a back-and-forth battle, with each team scoring touchdowns and showcasing their offensive prowess. However, it was USC's quarterback who truly stole the show. With his exceptional arm strength and precision passing, he led his team to multiple touchdowns, giving them an early lead.

Despite their initial setback, Louisville fought back valiantly in the second quarter. Their defense tightened up, making it difficult for USC to find openings. They managed to score two touchdowns themselves, narrowing the gap between the two teams.

Turner played in all 13 games this season, alternating turns in the backfield with Jordan and Isaac Guerendo, whose college career will come to an end against the Trojans.

Turner, who enters the Holiday Bowl with 251 yards and a touchdown on 51 carriers, last postseason showed he can capitalize on an opportunity. When the Cardinals were down to Jordan and Turner as the lone two running backs against Cincinnati in the Fenway Bowl, Turner led the team's rushing effort with a career-high 160 yards on 31 carries in the 24-7 victory.

USC football’s roster and depth chart will look much different in tonight’s Holiday Bowl matchup against No. 16 Louisville.

Since the Trojans ended their regular season six weeks ago, several USC players have either opted out of the bowl game or entered the transfer portal.

Williams opted out of the game, with an eye toward preserving his body for an anticipated NFL future. If the Trojans' bowl game was a bit more nationally meaningful, one wonders if he would have decided to don the Cardinal and Gold at least one last time. But alas.

He's seen as one of the best prospects in the 2024 draft, though the junior signal caller has not officially decided to forgo his college eligibility just yet.

This year, the 6'1", 215-pound superstar notched 3,633 yards and 30 touchdowns (against five interceptions) for the Trojans. He registered an 82.1 quarterback rating for his efforts.

USC's triumph over Louisville was a result of their exceptional skillset, unwavering determination, and remarkable teamwork. This victory not only solidified their position as a dominant force in college football but also served as an inspiration for aspiring athletes everywhere.
