The Italian Football Federation has reportedly opened a formal investigation into Jose Mourinho after the Roma coach said he was ‘worried’ about referee Matteo Marcenaro. According to news agency ANSA, the FIGC prosecutor is looking into the comments that the coach made during today’s press conference. Marcenaro has been assigned to Roma’s Serie A fixture away to Sassuolo on Sunday evening. “To be honest, I will say that I am worried about the referee,” said Mourinho in his press conference. “We had this official three times and I don’t think he has the emotional stability to work at this level. I am not relaxed about the referee or the VAR, who we were also often unlucky with.
