The Buffalo Bills cruised to a 32-6 victory over the New York Jets in Joe Brady's first game as interim offensive coordinator. The Bills improved to 6-5 on the season and eighth in the AFC at the time of the game's conclusion.
The onslaught was on from the very first play of the game.
After winning the coin toss, Buffalo deferred to the second half. As New York returner Xavier Gipson made his way past the 20-yard line, fullback Reggie Gilliam laid the hammer on the rookie and forced a fumble, which Quintin Morris recovered. The Bills had to settle for a field goal after Allen took a sack on third down, but the tone had been set as Buffalo led for the remainder of the game.
After kicking three consecutive field goals, the Bills offense got in the end zone after Buffalo cornerback Rasul Douglas' second quarter interception set the Bills up just outside the red zone.
The Bills already have more points against the Jets than they managed in total against the Broncos last Monday. After three quarters the Bills' offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Jets 29-6.
The Bills already have three blowout wins this season, but why stop there? Barring a freak comeback, they will be celebrating another huge win in the locker room very soon.
That was a get right game for the Bills. Buffalo's defense overpowered the atrocious New York offense and Joe Brady got comfortable in his first game as offense coordinator. Josh Allen completed 20 of 32 passes for 275 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Buffalo cornerback Rasul Douglas had two interceptions and a fumble recover and the Bills sacked the Jets quarterbacks six times. New York had 92 yards passing between Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle. The Bills outgained the Jets 393 to 155 and possessed the ball for 36 minutes, 51 seconds. Buffalo improves to 6-5 and is very much in the playoff hunt.
Buffalo kept the fireworks going in the third, as Allen found Khalil Shakir on a deep fade for an 81-yard touchdown to put the Bills up three scores. The Bills played the entire third quarter with a comfortable lead with their defense never allowing the Jets into the red zone.
Buffalo will travel to Philadelphia next Sunday where they will take on the Eagles at 4:25 p.m.
