Crocs Debuts New Cowboy Boot

One of the world’s most divisive shoe brands just released a brand-new style that’ll have you croc-odile rocking the dance floor.

Crocs is known for its love-it-or-hate-it clogs and epic collaborations with companies like Taco Bell and KFC. Now, the brand is giving its customers something they’ve apparently been asking for forever: cowboy boots.

On Oct. 5, the brand unveiled its latest innovation — the Crocs Classic Cowboy Boot — and we’re not going to lie, the shoes are pretty rad.

Described as “one of the most widely requested Crocs shoe designs in brand history,” the Crocs Classic Cowboy Boot has a “high shine croc-embossed texture and bold western-inspired stitching,” according to a press release. It’s even decorated with metallic Jibbitz charms and a spur charm that spins.

Other notable features include ventilation holes and a Crocs logo with a cowboy hat.

The company added: “On the rivet detail, the iconic black and white Crocs logo of Duke, the brand’s beloved crocodile mascot, has gone country, sporting his very own cowboy hat.”

It said the design had been widely requested by regular Crocs wearers. The boot will be available on its website and in some Crocs retail stores for a limited time for $120 (£98) from 23 October.

Crocs have been seen gracing the feet of David Hockney, paired with a Savile Row suit as the artist dined with the new king, as well as Stormzy and Post Malone. Long before that, they had been considered a workwear staple by many. Black Crocs with a faux fur lining were named a bestseller by one retailer last year.

The company said that in the quarter ending 30 September 2022, sales reached almost $1bn (£820m).

"It's the most wonderful time of the year – Croctober – a time to celebrate the most imaginative fans in the world and this year is no exception," Crocs Chief Marketing Officer Heidi Cooley said in a press release. "Croc Day was born by our fans so we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate them than by bringing their ideas to life not just for one day, but all month long. At Crocs, we stan our fans!"

The boots are made with a high-shine croc-embossed texture and bold western-inspired stitching. They also have spin-able spurs on the back to add to the cowboy boot feel.

Crocs will begin selling the boots online and at its retail stores starting Oct. 23. Customers will have to pony up $120 to get the boots in men's and women's sizes.

The Croctober festivities won't end there. The company will unveil a "Crocstellation" – a constellation outlined as a giant Classic Clog – on Oct. 25 to commemorate Croc Nation.
