By Sentinel-Tribune Staff PEMBERVILLE — A $15 motor vehicle permissive tax for residents in Pemberville, passed earlier this summer by village council, is in question after village officials turned over referendum petitions to the Wood County Board of Elections last week. The filing of those petitions means Pemberville residents will have a chance to vote on whether to implement the tax beginning in January. Terry Burton, director of Wood County Board of Elections, confirmed to the Sentinel-Tribune the petitions have been received and validated. “We received the petitions Friday, July 28 and we validated them the following Monday,” Burton said.
