London wins £2.9 million in Premium Bonds August 2023

Thousands of people won in London with prizes including from £5,000 to as high as £100,000.

National Savings and Investment (NS&I) have announced the 2023 August winners, let’s take a look.

Only five lucky winners in London took home a prize of £100,000, including someone with the bond number 372FB593336.

    The owner's bond was valued at £10,000 and was bought in October 2019 with an overall holding of £30,000.

    Only two lucky winners get to claim the top million-pound prize with the first claimed by a winner from Hereford and Worcester area with the bond number 522MP682337.

    The owners winning bond was valued at £50,000 and was purchased in December 2022 with an overall holding of £50,000.

    The second Premium Bond winner to claim £1 million is from Essex with bond number 535RC655361.

    Every month only two winners take home £1 million but there are still plenty of other prizes available, with 59 people winning the second prize of £100,000 and 117 claiming £50,000. 

    The second millionaire winner is from Essex and holds winning Bond number 535RC655361, which they purchased in April 2023. They have £23,7000 in Bonds.

    Jill Waters, NS&I retail director, said: “Both of our winners waited under a year to win the jackpot, with one winning after eight months and the other after just four months.

    Bond holders have a better chance of winning a prize from this month, as the prize fund rates increases from 3.7 percent to four percent.

    More than £30million in prizes have been added to the pot of winnings for the August draw with the odds of winning increasing from 24,000 to one to 22,000 to one.

    This month's draw includes 77 prizes for £100,000 and 154 prizes for £50,000, as well as just over 300 prizes for £10,000.
