Lindsay Lohan and her husband Bader Shammas welcomed thier first child

Lindsay Lohan has become a mum for the first time after welcoming her first child with her husband Bader Shammas!

The former Disney star has given birth to a baby boy, according to reports, with her rep revealing the newborn’s adorable name.

As per a statement shared to PageSix, Lindsay’s rep confirmed that her son is called Luai which is an Arabic name meaning "shield or protector".

The news came just days after the actor gave her followers a peek at her ocean-themed nursery. All ready for its new inhabitant! In a recent interview, Lindsay expanded on the inspiration behind the theme.

“I feel so peaceful by the ocean — I wanted to create a space where my little one and I could share in that feeling,” she said. Regarding the seaside mural, she added, “The planes and the sailboat felt so instantly classic, but the almost-rainbow watercolour effect felt really fresh and unexpected. It warms the space so much and I can’t wait to point out all the cute little elements to my babe.”

As for fellow new mother Paris Hilton, she wrote, “Congratulations love! So happy for you Welcome to the Mommy Club!”

Lohan’s pregnancy reveal came four months after she shared her and Shammas’ future family plans. “I want to have kids,” she told Interview magazine in November 2022, noting that she had “talked” to her partner about whether to continue living in Dubai as parents.

“It’s so safe there, and the schools are great. It’s so detached from everything that I’m used to. … It’s nice to have a separate world that’s my own.”

The actor and Shammas officially went public with their romance in February 2020. In November of the following year, the financier got down on one knee, with Lohan later debuting her engagement ring on Instagram.

Whilst her career will likely slow down for a while, Lohan did reveal that she pitched a nod to Mean Girls in the Netflix festive film, Falling for Christmas. The film, which was released last year, saw Lohan cover ‘Jingle Bell Rock’, like in the 2004 cult classic.

Lohan took a partial step back from the Hollywood limelight after years of tabloid attention alongside pop star Britney Spears and US socialite Paris Hilton.

She has returned to screens recently, following a rom-com deal with Netflix which included last year’s Falling For Christmas and this year’s Irish Wish.
