Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad stressed the importance of preserving the role of the Human Rights Council and its mechanisms as stipulated in the resolution which established it. Mikdad’s remarks came in a video speech to the Human Rights Council in Geneva on Thursday. “The Syrian Arab Republic always aspires to multilateral work in the field of human rights on the basis of the principles enshrined in the UN Charter and respect for sovereignty,” Mikdad said.
