Flu season beginning to overwhelm hospitals, Mendocino County officials report

An early start to the cold and flu season in Mendocino County is creating “very long wait times for care” in local emergency rooms, the Mendocino County Public Health Department reported this week. In a Friday press release, county officials urged residents to help “reduce the burden on overwhelmed emergency room staff” by using the following guidance to determine whether or not they need to go to the emergency room when experiencing cold and flu symptoms: 1.
