There’s an adage that, if you want to kill someone on the streets of New York City and get away with it, you should do it with a car. As the Daily News reported Monday, in the vast majority of cases where a cyclist or pedestrian is killed or injured by a driver — something that’s happening far too much these days — they skate with a ticket or perhaps a suspended license, more of an inconvenience than a real penalty for taking a life or leaving permanent physical and psychological scars.
