Caltrans to Install Center Left – Turn Lane in Murphys ...Middle East

Murphys, CA… On State Route 4 between Pennsylvania Gulch Road and Main Street. The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is preparing to build a two-way, center, left-turn lane to improve existing traffic conditions on State Route 4 between Pennsylvania Gulch Road and Main Street/Lawrence Street in the scenic town of Murphys in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Work is scheduled to begin June 21, 2021 and end in fall 2021. Some of the work will be conducted at night when one-way traffic control will be employed. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. Traffic impact is expected to be minimal during day time hours. Currently, motorists can be delayed on Route 4 during peak morning
