(KRON) -- Intel is laying off more than 100 workers at its South Bay headquarters, according to state filings with the Employment Development Department. The filings indicate that the chipmaker will slash 107 jobs at its main campus in Santa Clara.
According to a report in the Oregonian, Intel is also shutting down its small automotive business and laying off a majority of the workers in that section. Citing an internal memo, the Oregonian reports that the job cuts come as the company is refocusing on its "core client and data center portfolio."
