(KRON) – A West Berkeley neighborhood bar and restaurant has announced it will be serving its last margarita this upcoming holiday. Mexican and Venezuelan eatery and bar El Patio informed patrons that its last day of operation will be the Fourth of July.
“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce our closing,” El Patio posted on its Instagram. “... We’ve watched kids grow up and eat their first limes here. We’ve seen people on first dates and some even get married after that first date.”
The restaurant showed gratitude to customers for their consistency after the pandemic, stating, “We can’t say thank you enough for all the years of support. We wouldn’t be El Patio without you.”

The establishment is located at 2056 San Pablo Ave. According to El Patio’s website, the restaurant has a full bar with more than 300 different Mezcals, which is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from agave.
Per El Patio, “this isn’t a goodbye but a see you later.” For people who have events, El Patio’s bar and food catering will still be available.
