ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A few weeks ago, staying in the 60s would be a great thing… But now it’s getting old. We’re all patiently awaiting the return of summer-like temperatures, and they will be here — just not this weekend. Our normal temperature this time of year is 77 degrees, and the weekend will peak at 72 on Sunday. Muggier, warmer air is in the forecast afterwards, just in time for the Summer Solstice a week from today.
Today, tomorrow, and Sunday will all feature mostly cloudy skies, with Saturday morning having a few showers that will quickly move out to the east. Any other rain on Saturday will stay in the Southern Tier. Sunday there remains chances for light spotty showers throughout the day, but emphasis on light and spotty. Areas along the lakeshore may not see a single drop.
Temperatures climb back up to normal status on Monday with a high of 77. They continue to climb into the 80s Tuesday through next weekend, and the air will grow humid, with dew points reaching the 60s near the end of the weekend and above 70 Tuesday into Wednesday. Time to grab the bug spray! There will be chances of thunderstorms Tuesday through Thursday, with Thursday afternoon/evening in particular looking a bit concerning as a low pressure system draws close. That’s still a good chunk of time out, so we’re going to keep monitoring it to see what the exact timing, location and strength will be. Make sure to stay tuned to News10 NBC for updates.
