Earlier this year, Gomez revealed a “sweet” experience that she shared with Swift. Gomez recalled that she made the Tortured Poets Department singer cry after playing her then-unreleased song, “Lose You to Love Me” to Swift.
“When I played her ‘Lose You to Love Me,’ right before it came out [in 2019], she and her amazing mom [Andrea Swift] started to cry and then I started crying,” Gomez said in an interview with iHeartRadio in March. “You know, it’s very sweet.”
In “Lose You to Love Me,” Gomez sings about reclaiming herself after the end of a relationship that was no longer serving her, with many fans speculating it to be about her romance with Justin Bieber.
