ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Wednesday’s sunshine was dulled just a little bit by a light haze from more wildfire smoke. We’ll continue to see some of that smoke into Thursday, but it’ll be less noticeable, simply because we’ll see more clouds around, especially in the morning. That is also when we’ll see our best chance of a brief passing shower. This is the result of a slow moving boundary moving in. We should clear things out somewhat into the afternoon, allowing for a little more sun and dry weather. That boundary will hover nearby on Friday and even into the weekend, but expect mainly dry weather again on Friday.
Once that boundary moves in, it’ll drop our temperatures a bit, with 60s likely on Friday and Saturday, then likely climbing a few degrees into the lower 70s on Sunday. Some rain is still in the forecast on Saturday, but it looks like the wettest weather may be confined to the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier, with drier weather closer to Rochester. If you have any plans with dad for Father’s Day, our weather is looking “ok” but not perfect. We still expect a few showers, but lots of dry time on Sunday.
Then, we’ll warm things up a bit more for next week. At the same time, dew points will begin to rise. So, we’ll begin to feel much more summer-like with increased humidity, and some pop up afternoon showers or thunder by the middle to end of next week.
