Deion Sanders shared a brief update on his health on Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday, it was reported that Sanders has been away from the Colorado program recently as he deals with an unspecified health issue in Texas. While it’s still unclear what Sanders has been dealing with, he assured fans on Wednesday that he’s “okay” and said he’d give a more complete update once he’s back in Boulder.
“I can assure you all that everything is OKAY and will continue to be so,” Sanders wrote on social media. “God got me like no other. I have so much more work to do to Glorify God so please believe God got me!
“I’m excited to get back to Colorado to be at home with my staff, team & all associated to our program. When we arrive back to Boulder you will be updated on everything.”

— COACH PRIME (@DeionSanders) June 11, 2025This isn’t the first time Sanders has dealt with medical issues in recent years. In 2021, while he was the head coach at Jackson State, Sanders had two toes amputated due to a blood clotting issue.
Sanders is preparing for his third season as Colorado’s head coach. Last year, the Buffs finished 7-2 in the Big 12 and were one win away from competing in the conference title game.
Colorado will open the 2025 season against Georgia Tech on Aug. 29.
