According to Costco Insider, an email was reportedly sent to employees announcing “the reinstatement of exclusive early shopping hours for its Executive Members, offering enhanced access to its warehouses.”
Additionally, all U.S. warehouses will stay open until 7 p.m. for all members on Saturdays, giving customers an extra hour to shop, says the report.
“Our Executive Members are our most loyal members, and we want to reward them for their commitment to Costco,” the screenshot reads, indicating that the change will be implemented beginning June 30. “In addition, Executive Members will receive some other unique benefits, such as a $10 monthly credit on Instacart orders over $150 and new benefits and additional savings on several Costco Services,” it continues.
Parade reached out to Costco for comment but did not immediately hear back.
“As someone who usually works the morning shift, I wonder (and hope) we'll be able to work an hour earlier to offset the lost time in getting the warehouse ready for opening. We barely make it as it is,” said one commenter.
But customers seemed pleased with the reported change, writing, “I'll upgrade if this is real. It's way too crowded during normal hours so I've been spending extra anyway doing the Costco Same-day.”
The topic was broached on Costco’s most recent earnings call on May 29, with CEO Ron Vachris addressing the recent expansion of gas station hours positively before stating, “We continue to look at the operation side of things as well. The warehouse hours.”
