During a June 7 interview with TV Insider, Garcia discussed appearing in the 2008 episode of the CW hit. She said that her parents visited the Supernatural set during her one-episode run as the character, Nancy Fitzgerald. According to Garcia, her mother took a liking to Ackles, who played demon hunter Dean Winchester during the show's 15 seasons.
Garcia also said she enjoyed playing Nancy in the Supernatural episode.
Supernatural came to an end in 2020. Ackles shared that he believes fans of the spooky series will enjoy his new Amazon Prime show, Countdown, in a May 2025 interview with Entertainment Weekly. According to Ackles, his Countdown character, Mark Meachum, a L.A. detective, shares some similar qualities with Dean.
"There's probably going to be some familiarity from that fandom with this guy. It's not like I'm going so opposite spectrum with this character," said Ackles during the interview. "He's going to be a familiar taste, which is good. I like doing that. I mean, I played Dean for 15 years. I loved playing that kind of a character. And I think this guy is in the vein of that, just with a completely different set of circumstances."
