NEWTON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- One person is dead and another is critically injured after a shooting at a motorcycle club, according to the Newton Police Department.
Just after 2 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a shooting at the Outlaw Motorcycle Club House at 1605 North Main Avenue. When they arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds who were both taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Gang activity suspected in Catawba County mass shooting as four suspects face judgeSadly, one victim was pronounced dead of their injuries. The other victim was taken by helicopter to a medical center in Charlotte, where they are in critical condition, officials said.
The public is asked to avoid the area as the investigation continues. No arrests have been made yet; however, "the scene is secure and there is no immediate threat," police said.
