Kane Williamson was signed by Karachi Kings for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 after going unsold in the IPL auction. However, he didn’t play a single match during the PSL season. The star batter missed the initial matches due to prior commitments, including a commentary role during the IPL.

"Always loved watching Mohammad Yousuf bat. Younis Khan as well. And I was fortunate to play with Shoaib Malik in some T20 cricket and learned a lot from him. So those three are guys that I either enjoyed playing with or really admired watching. Sort of only caught the end of Inzamam-ul-Haq, but yeah, he was also another wonderful player," Williamson said.

Younis Khan is Pakistan’s all-time leading Test run-scorer, with over 10,000 runs in 118 matches at an average above 52, including 34 centuries. He also led Pakistan to victory in the 2009 ICC T20 World Cup as captain.

The right-hander also led the team to the final of the 2021 T20 World Cup, where they finished as runners-up. He stepped down from New Zealand’s captaincy and declined a central contract to be available for franchise cricket.
