ADAM Levine ‘did not enjoy’ his big return to The Voice after six years away and ‘felt a void’ filming this season, a source exclusively told The U.S. Sun.
The Maroon 5 frontman quit the show in 2019 after making a series of complaints over the show’s format – which resulted in his finalists not making it to the last episode at the time.

One of the most buzzed-about dynamics of his time on the singing competition was his bromance with fellow The Voice coach, Blake Shelton.
The pair would playfully bicker and mess with each other while filming together, up until Adam’s departure six years ago.
Blake, 48, would continue on with the show, where he met his now-wife Gwen Stefani – who was also a Voice coach.
However, Blake announced that season 23 would be his final time spinning in the red chairs, and he hung up his coaching hat for good in 2023.
Adam shocked fans last year when he announced he was returning to season 27 of The Voice but fans were quick to note the dynamic won’t be the same as his first time around due to the absence of Blake.
Now, an insider has told The U.S. Sun that Adam himself also felt that “void” and not having Blake by his side impacted the whole experience.
“Adam didn’t realize how much his experience was made by having Blake on set with him until this season when he had to film without him,” the source claimed.

“That’s not to say he doesn’t like the other coaches this season, he does. But he didn’t have as much fun as he did in the past with his buddy Blake.
“Adam’s dream would be to return with Blake again, he desperately misses that guy. It’d probably kill it with the ratings.”
Though they weren’t able to film the entire season together, Blake did stop by season 27 of the NBC show to visit his buddy.
In a video posted to the show’s social media accounts, Adam can be seen sitting in the famous coaches’ chair – the same exact one Blake used to sit in.
During Blake and Adam’s seasons filming together, Blake was always on the far right, if you’re looking at them from the stage, and Adam was at the far left.
However, following both of their departures, the seating arrangement had been shaken up.
As Adam is taking a call from the seat that Blake claims is “his”, he demands the Payphone singer “get up from the chair now.”
The Voice Season 27 Coaches
The Voice has gone through many coaches in its various seasons. Some stay on for a while, while others only stay for one season. Here is who will be coaching Season 27 in 2025.
Adam Levine – Season 1 to 16, 27
John Legend – 16 to 22, 24 to 25, 27
Kelsea Ballerini – 15, Comeback Stage, 20, 27
Michael Buble – 26 and 27
“I’m talking to Kelsea right now. She’s like, my best new country friend. You’ve been replaced,” Adam said to Blake, referencing new season 27 coach Kelsea Ballerini.
Adam then told his friend: “This is my chair. They gave me your chair. How disrespectful is that?”
“What have you done to my chair for real? What did you do the button? Where’s the button? How many miles have you put on my chair?” a frustrated Blake quipped.
Following Adam’s season 27 return, alongside Kelsea, Michael Bublé, and John Legend, he will not be back on The Voice in the near future.
Season 28, which starts production in July and premieres on NBC in September, will bring back coaches Michael, Niall Horan, Reba McEntire, and Snoop Dogg.
Fans have begged for Adam and Blake to reunite for a future season however, no plans of that happening have been announced yet.
