According to On3’s Chad Simmons, five star edge rusher Richard Wesley has decommitted from the Oregon Ducks.

He made a verbal commitment to Oregon on May 10th.

Wesley went viral for celebrating his commitment to Oregon alongside Lanning.

The two leaped into a swimming pool together in celebration of the prospect’s decision.

It seems that special moment didn’t leave a lasting effect on Wesley.

Wesley is ranked as the No. 2 edge rusher and No. 3 overall prospect in the state of California.

He can still recommit to Oregon, but the prospect has some major visits lined up.

Wesley is visiting with the Texas Longhorns on June 20 and the Ohio State Buckeyes on August 30.

:We don’t have anything set in stone with Oregon as far as the full package,” Wesley’s father told Rivals.

“As far as we’re concerned, we like Oregon a lot. But there is still some fine-tuning that we need to do.

“Ultimately, when I talked to him, he didn’t tell me to shut the recruiting down and he’s still very much open and interested in other places.

“This definitely isn’t a final decision because there’s a lot to be finalized.”

Wesley isn’t the only prospect Oregon lost either.

Alai Kalaniuvalu, an incoming freshman offensive tackle, flipped his commitment from Oregon to BYU at the last minute.

Fans can’t believe what is going on with Oregon’s recruitments and shared their thoughts on social media.

College football's 2024 shake-up

Oklahoma and Texas switching from the Big 12 to the SEC is one of the biggest changes to college football in recent times.

And that has set off a chain reaction which has left the Pac-12 conference decimated.

The Pac-12 has lost 10 of its 12 members and is down to just Oregon State and Washington State.

Four of those teams are headed for the Big 12 – Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah.

Another four are going to the Big 10 – Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington.

And the other two teams, California and Stanford, will join the ACC conference.

No teams have left the SEC, Big Ten or ACC.

“This is a genuine question, but what is going on with Oregon on the recruiting trail this year?” one fan said.

“5th decommit?” another fan said.

“Interesting, Oregon doesn’t seem to be hitting on all cylinders with recruiting this year,” a third fan said.

“Well that didn’t last long,” a fourth fan said.

“The hits just keep coming for the ducks,” a fifth fan said.
