Sunny summer days are nearly upon us, and that means you have to have proper sunglasses. UV rays aren’t just harmful to your skin, they can really damage your eyes too. But we also want cute sunglasses! Protection and style make sunnies a win-win item to purchase. However, they are one of the first things to break or get left somewhere because of how small they are. We’ve all been guilty of forgetting to put them away once we’re done with them. So, for many, it just doesn’t make sense to spend a ton of money on new shades. That’s where Aldi comes in; they’re dropping several chic sunglasses this week, with one pair that looks almost just like Celine and Ray-Ban styles that cost 92 times the price.From June 4 to June 10, Aldi will be selling Crane Polarized Sunglasses for just $4.99 in the Aldi Finds aisles of local U.S. stores. They’ve released sunglasses in the past, usually always polarized like these (meaning that they filter out intense glare from the sun making them great for driving when it’s sunny out). Aldi is dropping 12 different sunglasses, with eight of them being women’s styles. Crane Polarized Sunglasses, $4.99 at Aldi
(Aldi)These aren’t actually the color brown but instead are a translucent peachy-orange. They look like a chunkier Wayfarer style (which is a style Ray-Ban made popular; more on that later) with almost cat-eye ends. The far corners have silver metal accents and the lenses are a similar peach-orange color, just darker.These sunglasses don’t have nose pads, but instead have connected parts that jut out and sit on the bridge of your nose. This is helpful so that they don’t get caught in your hair if you sit them on top of your head, but they can sometimes slip down more easily. From what we can see from the picture, they have pretty long arms that curve down behind the ear.
Celine Eyewear - Bold 3 Dots Cat-Eye Sunglasses, $460 at Mytheresa
(Mytheresa)Even though these stood out, they’re not the only sunglasses that look the way they do. In fact, these look a lot like Celine Eyewear’s Bold 3 Dots Cat-Eye Sunglasses. They currently cost $460 at Mytheresa and have a similar design to the Aldi sunnies. They are a cat-eye style, meaning that they are kind of a Wayfarer with chunkier upper corners that flare out (like a cat-eye with eyeliner). The Celine glasses are large on the face and have a light pink color to them that isn’t too far off of Aldi’s “brown” peach-orange glasses. They also have three little silver metal dots in the far corners, similar to the metal accents on the Aldi sunglasses.
