The Champions League final is coming up this weekend, and both teams have some major selection dilemmas.
Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are set to meet in Munich to decide who will be crowned the champions of Europe this season.
PSG have been one of the best teams in Europe in 2025Getty Inter came through an all-time semi-final to reach this stageGettyPSG have been incredible during 2025 and have beaten all four of the Premier League representatives in Europe this year.
To reach the final, they had to see off Arsenal, coming out on top with a 3-1 aggregate win.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan had the best defensive record in the tournament until they met Barcelona.
The LaLiga side scored six times across two legs, but it wasn’t enough as Davide Frattesi’s goal in extra-time at the San Siro sealed a 7-6 win for Simone Inzaghi‘s men.
PSG
In goal, there isn’t too much debate around who will be starting, with Gianluigi Donnarumma the clear number one.
The Italian pulled off a series of top saves across the semi-final against Arsenal, and as a former AC Milan player, he would love to beat Inter in the final.
Achraf Hakimi is a former Inter player, and he will be at right-back.
Nuno Mendes has been sublime this season at left-back, keeping Mohamed Salah and Bukayo Saka quiet.
Marquinhos is one of the oldest players in the team and the club captain, so he will be at he heart of the defence, and joining him will be William Pacho.
Lucas Beraldo is an option as well, but Pacho has been the clear favourite.
Donnarumma is one of the best shot-stoppers in the worldGettyThe PSG midfield is one of the best in the world.
In Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz and Joao Neves, the French side have found the perfect blend of technical quality, high work rate and rotation.
Vitinha sits as the deepest, and the former Wolves man looks to dictate things from there.
Ruiz likes to get into the box to score goals, while Neves is an all-action player who hardly loses possession.
Where Enrique is going to have his toughest task is choosing his wingers.
Enrique is looking to win his second Champions League titleGettyOusmane Dembele will lead the line.
The forward is a contender for the Ballon d’Or and has directly contributed to 31 goals in 2025 alone.
He is playing with a level of freedom and confidence we’ve never seen before.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has also been a revelation since joining from Napoli in January.
The Georgian international works incredibly hard off the ball and has elite quality with it.
But on the right, there is a real dilemma.
Enrique can either choose the raw speed of Bradley Barcola or go for the slightly slower but more creative Desire Doue.
This PSG team is different to the previous ones that have failed in EuropeInter Milan
In goal, Inter’s number one is Yann Sommer.
The Swiss international has proven to be an excellent signing since joining from Borussia Monchengladbach to replace Andre Onana.
Inzaghi plays three centre-backs, and two of those are nailed on starters.
One of those will be Alessandro Bastoni, with the Italy international being among the best defenders in the world.
In the heart of the defence, Francesco Acerbi will be there, with the experienced centre-back a firm Inzaghi favourite.
Benjamin Pavard is fighting to be fit, and if he makes it, he will be in competition with Yann Bisseck and Stefan De Vrij.
Sommer is an excellent goalkeeperGettyAt wing-back, Denzel Dumfires will be on the right side after two incredible displays against Barcelona.
The Dutchman scored twice and set up two more across the semi-final.
On the other side, Inzaghi has both more defensive or offensive options.
If he goes for the latter, Federico Dimarco will start, but he was hooked very early on during both semi-final legs after struggling to deal with Lamine Yamal.
In his place, Carlos Augusto did better, and he might get the nod here.
In midfield, there are plenty of options as well.
Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicola Barella will start as two of the three central midfielders, with the latter offering energy and quality, while Calhanoglu’s set pieces and leadership are crucial.
The other spot is between Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has converted into a central midfielder now he’s in his 30s, Davide Frattesi and Piotr Zielinski.
Zielinski is currently a doubt for this game, leaving it a straight shootout between Mkhitaryan and Frattesi.
Frattesi was the hero in the semi-finalGettyFrattesi did score the winner in the semi-final, but Mkhitaryan’s big-game experience should see him get the nod.
Up front, Inzaghi has plenty of strikers, but he has a favoured front two.
Inter’s captain Lautaro Martinez is their top scorer in the Champions League this year and overcame a hamstring issue to help in the second leg of the semi-final.
The suggestions are he will be fine, and we’ll see him start this one.
He will be partnered by Marcus Thuram, with the Frenchman the ideal foil to Martinez.
