Cars catch fire in Oakley junkyard blaze, prompt road closure ...Middle East

(KRON) -- Firefighters are at the scene of a "large" junkyard blaze in Oakley where several cars and vegetation are on fire, said the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District on Tuesday evening.

The call for the fire, near Main Street and Brownstone Road in Oakley, came in at 5: 39 p.m.

"The location of the fire is where cars are dismantled," CCFPD confirmed to KRON4.

It is not yet known what caused the fire.

Oakley Police Department said due to the large structure fire, Main Street is closed from Delta to Bolton roads with no expected timeframe of reopening.
