Notable this week: No. 1 Huntington Beach, which had a bye in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs, will be face No. 3 Santa Margarita on in the second round Tuesday. … In games Division 2 games Tuesday, No. 21 Canyon is at No. 11 Servite and No. 9 Trabuco Hills is at No. 18 Fountain Valley in the second round. … Beckman returns to the Top 25 after a 13-4 win over Temescal Canyon in the Division 3 first round.
ORANGE COUNTY BASEBALL TOP 25

1. Huntington Beach (24-4): The Oilers, seeded third in CIF-SS Division 1, plays at home Tuesday in the second round of the playoffs against No. 3 Santa Margarita.

2. Orange Lutheran (23-6): Junior right-hander Gary Morse pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts and only one walk in the Lancers’ 5-0 win over Rancho Cucamonga in a Division 1 first-round game. Orange Lutheran plays at Los Alamitos in the second round Tuesday.

3. Santa Margarita (17-12): Senior right-hander Brennan Bauer pitched a shutout in a 2-0 win over Newport Harbor in the Division 1 first round. It was Bauer’s 20th career win, passing Griffin Canning for most career wins in school history. Santa Margarita plays at Huntington Beach on Tuesday in the second round.

4. Newport Harbor (22-7): The Sailors got a fine pitching effort from Gavin Guy but lost to Santa Margarita 2-0 in the Division 1 first round. They finished second in the Sunset League and beat league champion Huntington Beach twice in league games.

5. Cypress (18-11): The Centurions lost to Los Osos 7-5 in the Division 1 first round. Gary Hennessey drove in two runs. Cypress won the Crestview League title.

6. Villa Park (23-6): Jake Nobles was 2 for 2 with three RBIs and pitched three shutout innings for the Spartans in their 8-7 win over Bishop Amat in the Division 1 first round. Villa Park plays at Ayala on Tuesday in the second round.

7. Los Alamitos (18-9-2): The Griffins beat La Mirada, the No. 10 team in the Prep Baseball Report state rankings, 4-2 in the first round of the Division 1 playoffs. Tyler Smith and Nate Walker had two RBIs each.

8. El Dorado (21-8): Logan Steenburgen pitched a five-hit shutout and Jake Vanderzee was 3 for 4 with three RBIs as the Golden Hawks beat Ayala 5-0 in a Division 1 first-round game. El Dorado plays at Crespi on Tuesday in the second round.

9. Trabuco Hills (21-7-1): The Mustangs beat Bonita 4-3 in a Division 2 first-round game. Mike DeFrancesca pitched a complete game, Ryan Luce hit two doubles and Sam Crouse drove in two runs. Trabuco Hills plays at Fountain Valley in the second round Tuesday.
