The 49ers signed their franchise quarterback to a five-year, $265m contract, including $181m guaranteed.
It goes without saying, but this is the largest contract given to the last pick of a draft in the history of professional sports.
Brock Purdy is now the seventh highest paid quarterback in the league on a per-year basis, at $53m annually (tied with Jared Goff).
He trails only Dak Prescott, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Jordan Love, Trevor Lawrence and Tua Tagovailoa
Purdy jumped from being the best bargain in the league, to now being paid in the upper echelon of quarterbacks.
To put it into perspective, his rookie deal was four years for $3.74m.
His second contract? Five years, $265m.
There are pay raises, then there’s whatever you want to call that.

The numbers on Purdy’s contract will impact San Francisco’s cap space in the near future, as some fans worried.
A few folks out there aren’t exactly sold on Purdy being a $53m quarterback.
“Went from best bargain to worst contract, ouch,” one fan posted on X.
“Their window just closed as soon as he signed the contract,” another chimed in.
A third added: “Overpaid, he should’ve been on a two-year deal. We still don’t know what we’re getting out of him.”
Purdy’s value can be debated, but what can’t be argued, is the going rate for an upper-tier quarterback.
And Purdy has been that for the most part, during his time in San Francisco.
And now general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan, are betting on Purdy to take his game a step further.
Time will tell, but as of now, Mr. Irrelevant now has 181 million guaranteed reasons to smile.
