The University of Northern Colorado baseball team is down to its final game of the season.
After splitting the first two games of their final series against St. Thomas, the Bears aim to end the year Saturday with the best possible result: a win over the league-leading Tommies on Senior Day to end the 51-game spring schedule.
The game begins at noon at Jackson Field in Greeley.
UNC (18-32 overall) did not qualify for the four-team Summit League Tournament this year. The Bears finished in sixth place in the six-team league and had a 9-20 league record as of Friday.
St. Thomas, 20-9 Summit League and 28-21 overall, remain ineligible for the postseason as part of its continued transition to Division I. St. Thomas, located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, is the defending Summit League regular-season champion and can win a second regular-season title this year.
Second-place Oral Roberts (19-9, 32-20 through Friday) will be the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament May 21-24 at Tal Anderson Field in Omaha, Nebraska. The other three teams in the conference tournament are host Omaha, North Dakota State and South Dakota State. The league tournament winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
