Beat Bobby Flay host Bobby Flay hasn't had a restaurant in his hometown of New York City since his two NYC restaurants closed their doors — Bar Americain closed in Midtown Manhattan in 2018, and Gato closed its doors in NoHo Manhattan in March 2020 when the pandemic shut everything down.
"Since you film here and live here, do you miss having a restaurant in NYC?" asked one fan, to which Flay replied, "I do miss it…stand by!"
"If you had to compete as a team, who would you choose as your teammate?" asked another fan, to which Flay replied, "I'll take @chefbrookew. I know our food would get an upgrade in terms of presentation. She makes delicious food, but it's always pretty too (like her)."
Fan: "Will crispy rice ever go out of style?"Flay: "I hope not. But if it does, I'll find something else to get under @sunnyanderson's skin."
Fan: "The one ingredient you hate using, cooking with."Flay: "I don't love lentils unless @maneetchauhan is cooking them with all of her fabulous spices."
Fan: "Do you know anything about the challengers [on Beat Bobby Flay] before the show?"Flay: "I don't. When you see them, I see them! Ha."
Fan: "Will you ever do a pop-up show on the West Coast?Flay: "Maybe. My daughter Sophie lives on the West Coast, so we talk about it from time to time."
Beat Bobby Flay is one of Food Network's longest-running shows. It airs new episodes on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT, though reruns are on almost every day.
