'Dawson's Creek' Star Joins 'Legally Blonde' Prequel Series ...Saudi Arabia

In an exciting bit of news for fans of Reese Witherspoon's unorthodox attorney Elle Wood, James Van Der Beek -- the '90s heartthrob actor best known for his role in Dawson's Creek -- will play a recurring role in the upcoming Amazon prequel series Elle, as reported by Variety.

Van Der Beek will reportedly figure into the show as high school superintendent-turned-prospective mayoral candidate, Dean Wilson. As reported by Variety, the 48-year-old Van Der Beek will have a recurring role in the series.

His most prominent film credits include appearances in movies like Varsity Blues, The Rules of Attraction, Texas Rangers and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
