Rocker, 81, in Final Stages of Alzheimer's Honored With Documentary Film ...Saudi Arabia

Garland Jeffreys, 81, has had a storied 50-year career in rock and roll, exploring all manner of genres. Now his wife and filmmaker, Claire Jeffreys, is releasing Garland Jeffreys: The King of In Between, which she produced and directed. Steven Van Zandt of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band is a co-executive producer on the project along with his wife, Maureen Van Zandt, Danny Zelisko, Kathleen Lavelle and Bill Tureby.

It continues, "Sadly, since beginning the film, Garland has been suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease and is now in the final stages. This truly makes the film stand as his legacy."

Now, she hopes that people will come away with "a respect not only for Garland's hard-won success, but with a desire to embrace their own levels of achievement in any sphere, not just as artists, but as human beings."

Jeffreys' best-known hits include "Reelin'", "Matador," "96 Tears" and "Wild in the Streets."
