The Colorado High School Activities Association released Class 2A-5A regional baseball brackets Wednesday.

Numerous local teams have drawn top seeds, as they play in do-or-die regional tournaments this weekend with a chance to move on to state tournament play beginning next week.

University (20-3) is the top seed in the 32-team 3A postseason. It will host the Region 1 tournament Friday and will face No. 32 Lincoln (16-7) at noon with the winner matching up with No. 16 Manitou Springs (12-10) or No. 17 Bennett (14-9) later in the day.

The winner of each regional will advance to state tournament play.

Fourth-seeded Eaton (17-6) — which has won the past four 3A state titles — will host the 3A Region 4 tournament and will face No. 29 La Junta (8-15) at 10 a.m. Saturday. The winner takes on either No. 13 Lamar (16-7) or No. 20 Basalt (10-12) at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Sixth-seeded Resurrection Christian (15-8) will play host to the 3A Region 6 tournament Saturday at Nelson Farm Park Ballfields in Johnstown. The Cougars will face No. 27 Arvada (12-7) at 2 p.m. with the winner matching up with No. 11 Brush (13-10) or No. 22 Alamosa (10-12) at 5 p.m.

Valley (11-12) is the 18th seed in 3A. It will face No. 15 Alameda (19-3) in the first round of the Region 2 tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday with the winner moving on to a 3 p.m. regional final against second-seeded region host Colorado Academy (18-4) or No. 31 Berthoud (10-13).

Dayspring Christian (19-3) is the second seed in the 2A postseason. The Eagles will play host to the Region 2 tournament and will take on No. 31 Sedgwick County (9-14) at 12:30 p.m. Friday with the winner matching up with No. 15 SkyView Academy (11-5) or No. 18 Burlington (8-10) later that day.

Sixth-seeded Highland (17-6) will play host to the 2A Region 6 tournament. The Huskies take on No. 27 Buena Vista (12-11) at 10 a.m. Saturday with the winner moving on to face No. 11 Las Animas (16-5) or No. 22 Front Range Christian (10-11) in the afternoon.

Eighth-seeded Platte Valley (14-9) will play host to the 2A Region 8 tournament. The Broncos open their campaign against No. 25 Bishop Machebeuf (11-9) at 12:30 p.m. Saturday with the winner facing No. 9 Limon (14-9) or No. 24 St. Mary’s (13-10) at 3 p.m.

Sixth-seeded Windsor (17-6) will play host to the 4A Region 6 tournament Saturday. The Wizards face No. 27 Fort Morgan (13-10) at 12:30 p.m. with the winner taking on No. 11 Grand Junction (16-7) or No. 22 Pueblo East (12-11) later in the afternoon.

Roosevelt (18-5) is the 16th seed in the 4A Region 1 tournament and will face No. 17 Silver Creek (13-10) in the first round at 12:30 p.m. Friday with the winner facing No. 32 Gateway (12-8) or top-seeded regional host Pueblo County (21-2) in the regional final later in the day. The tournament will take place at Runyon Field Sports Complex in Pueblo.

Severance (17-6) is the 21st seed in 4A. It will face No. 12 Lutheran (14-9) at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family. The winner will face No. 5 Holy Family (17-6) or No. 28 Evergreen (15-7-1) that afternoon.
