NBC has canceled five shows for the 2025-2026 season – but fans could expect a bunch of their favorites to return to the lineup.

After vowing to slash programming to make room for NBA games, The U.S. Sun could confirm which shows viewers could expect to see on their small screens next season.

One of the shows to receive the boot after three seasons is Night Court.

The final episode aired last week, leaving fans shocked over the network’s decision to cancel the multi-camera comedy starring Melissa Rauch.

The series is a reboot of the original sitcom from 1984.

The show could be picked up by another network.

Another multi-camera show to receive the axe is Lopez vs Lopez.

The comedy stars George Lopez and his real-life daughter Maya.

Suits LA was canned after just one season.

The series is a reboot of the USA network drama, which starred Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s Found, and The Irrational, were both canceled after just two seasons.

MAKING THEIR RETURN

But fortunately for fans, 10 shows have been renewed for the 2025-2026 season.

All of the shows in the Chicago franchise have been renewed, as Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. are returning to the small screen.

Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU are also coming back.

One-season shows The Hunting Party and Brilliant Minds made enough of an impression to return for second seasons.

Happy’s Place and St. Denis Medical have also been renewed.

The Voice will be returning to NBC, as the new season will feature returning judges Michael Buble, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Niall Horan.

FAN OUTRAGE

NBC slashing shows is a result of the network now airing NBA games.

This will be the first time since 2002 the network will air basketball.

Fans have turned to social media to express their outrage over the shakeup.

One fan commented, “NBC has just revealed its fall schedule, and due to the new NBA deal & all the recent cancellations, it’s a bit of mess that the network is still figuring out how to manage.

“Still I am excited for the return of shows like St Denis Medical & Happy’s Place so that’s at least good!!“

A second wrote, “WHY? Canceling Suits LA when it was getting great. Found an excellent show, and Lopez vs Lopez, one of the few comedies that keeps us in stitches.

“What now, more cops and medical shows and a some NBA games. Nothing worth watching on NBC now. Bad move.”

A third fired, “I’m just pissed off that they are canceling one of my favorite shows to ‘make room for the NBA.’

“I’m just one viewer so I guess the percentages are with them. Just very irritated.”

OTHER NETWORKS

NBC isn’t the only network canceling shows,

CBS has ended many shows as well, including S.W.A.T after eight seasons.
