POLICE REPORTS

ASSAULT: Caller at Walgreens on East Perkins Street reported at 8:02 a.m. May 7 that a man punched an employee. An officer responded and arrested a 35-year-old Covelo man for misdemeanor battery with serious bodily injury. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.
ENCAMPMENTS: Caller in the 900 block of Mazzoni Street reported at 8:50 a.m. that there were “several encampments” along the fence. An officer responded and arrested a 39-year-old Covelo man for violating his parole. He was booked into county jail.
PEDESTRIAN STOP: An officer contacted a person behaving suspiciously near the Rail Trail at Talmage Road and arrested Sesario Rios IV, 44, of Hopland, on suspicion of vehicle theft, violating his probation and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into county jail.
RAPE: Caller at Adventist Health Ukiah Valley reported at 12:17 p.m. May 8 that a rape occurred. An officer took a case report.
RAPE: Caller at Ukiah High School on Low Gap Road reported at 2 p.m. May 8 that a rape occurred. An officer took a case report.
POSSESSION WITH PRIORS: An officer contacted the occupant of a suspicious vehicle in the 1400 block of South State Street at 12:43 a.m. May 9 and arrested Tina L. Cornwall, 31, of Ukiah, on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with multiple priors and possessing drug paraphernalia. She was booked into county jail.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Caller at Walmart on Airport Park Boulevard reported at 2:53 a.m. May 9 that a domestic argument was occurring. An officer responded and arrested a 20-year-old Ukiah woman on suspicion of domestic violence. She was booked at county jail.
MAN PASSED OUT: Caller at Safeway on South State Street reported at 7:06 a.m. May 9 that a man was passed out near propane tanks. An officer responded and arrested David P. Maxwell, 58, of San Diego County, on suspicion of violating his probation. He was booked into county jail.
DRUNK IN PUBLIC: Caller at Riverside Park at the end of East Gobbi Street reported at 1:35 p.m. May 9 that a woman had jumped into their truck. An officer responded and arrested a 28-year-old Santa Rosa woman for being drunk in public. She was booked into county jail.
MAN EXPOSING HIMSELF: Caller in the 500 block of South Main Street reported at 6:27 p.m. May 9 that a man was exposing himself. An officer responded and arrested a 35-year-old Ukiah man for being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was booked into county jail.
SHOPPING CART STOLEN: Caller at Walmart on Airport Park Boulevard reported at 11:16 p.m. May 9 that someone stole a shopping cart. An officer responded and arrested Brett W. Norgard, 35, of Ukiah, on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with multiple priors, possessing drug paraphernalia and violating his probation. He was booked into county jail.
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the UPD regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department.
DEATH THREATS: Caller at Chase Bank on East Alder Street reported at 8:44 a.m. May 7 that a person there was making death threats. An officer responded and arrested Justin M.J. Williamson, 34, of Fort Bragg, on suspicion of threatening a crime with intent to terrorize, evading and resisting. He was booked into county jail.
TRANSIENTS STEALING FOOD: Caller at a hotel on South Street reported at 8:27 a.m. May 8 that transients were trespassing and stealing food. An officer responded and reported that the people were advised “of trespassing rules and sent on way.”
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A caller in the 400 block of North Harbor Drive reported at 10:08 a.m. May 9 that a fight was occurring. An officer responded and arrested Desirea Rodarte, 29, of Fort Bragg, on suspicion of burglary, domestic violence, vandalism and resisting/obstructing. She was booked into county jail.
Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper.
